Olá pessoas. Estamos trazendo o frases da corrida para trazer o que repercutiu entre os pilotos sobre Phoenix e seu gigantenorme nome para uma corrida. Tem o grande resultado de Max Chilton, os problemas de pneu da Penske, as forças Gs, os toques, enfim. Confira o que eles disseram:

Scott Dixon

“It was tough, definitely one of the toughest races on these short ovals. The car was super-fast. I think we had the best car out there on strategies and pit stops. If we can figure it out at the start of the season, it’ll make it a little easier for us.”

Foi difícil, definitivamente uma das corridas mais difíceis nesses ovais pequenos. O carro estava super rápido. Acho que tivemos o melhor nas estratégias e pit stops. Se conseguirmos isso no começo da temporada, vai ser bem mais fácil pra gente.

“I was loose, loose, loose at the beginning of the race, but my engineer made an adjustment and my car woke up. This is not our strong suit, short ovals, but if we can be strong, that’s a good sign.”

"Man, the G-forces were unbelievable. We were wide open at the end there when the track cooled down. So much load! You gotta be a body builder to drive these things. It’s not the tires that are the problem; it’s the amount of downforce we had here. That’s why we couldn’t pass and why some of the tires had vibrations.”

As forças Gs eram inacreditáveis. Corremos com o pé embaixo quando a pista ficou mais fria. É tanta carga! Você tem que ser fisiculturista pra pilotar essas coisas. Os pneus não eram problema, foi a quantidade de downforce que tivemos aqui. Por isso que não podíamos passar e o porquê de alguns pneus sofrerem vibrações.

Helio Castroneves

"There was never an indication there was any problem with the tire so by the time we realized it was going flat, it was too late. Everything was going so smooth, it was too good to be true. Once you go slow on a one-mile oval like that, it's like an eternity to get back to pit lane. We lost a lot with that."

Nunca houve uma indicação de que havia um problema com o pneu, então apenas na hora que percebemos que ia furar. Foi muito tarde. Tudo estava indo tão bem, era bom demais para ser verdade. "Everything was going well and I was with a group and the pace was quite consistent, the same as the guys around me. Helio was a couple of laps down, faster than me, but when he made a move into Turn 1, it was a late move and in order to avoid contact I had to go on the marbles."

Tudo esta indo bem, eu estava num grupo e o ritmo era constante. O mesmo de alguns pilotos que estavam a minha volta. Helio estava algumas voltas atrás, mais rápido que eu, mas ele fez um movimento na curva 1. Foi um movimento atrasado e para evitar o contato eu tive que ir para a sujeira.

Max Chilton

“I think this was an amazing result for me. We were able to move forward and stay up near the front of the pack for most of the race. I think I was even in the top five for a while, but got caught in some traffic and got shuffled back a bit. I did make a few mistakes as a rookie, just because I haven’t experienced it before, where we could have been top two or three."

Eu acho que foi um resultado incrível pra mim. Pudemos avançar mais para frente e ficar perto da frente do pelotão durante boa parte da corrida. Acho que eu estava no top 5 por um tempo, mas peguei tráfego e fui para trás. Cometi alguns erros de novato, apenas porque nunca tive essa experiência antes, onde nos poderíamos pegar o top 2 ou 3.
